Seeded Tamari Crackers

These crunchy crackers are packed with nutrient-dense seeds that provide fibre, healthy fats, and plant-based minerals. Seeds such as Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds, Chia seeds, and Flaxseeds naturally contain omega-3 fats, protein, and lignans that support digestive health, are great for balanced hormones and stable energy. Using Tamari adds a savoury umami flavour while helping the crackers crisp in the oven.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Pumpkin seeds

  • ½ cup Sunflower seeds

  • ½ cup Chia seeds

  • ½ cup Flaxseeds

  • 2 tbsp Tamari

  • 250ml water

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C and line a baking tray with baking paper

  2. In a bowl, combine the pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, and flaxseeds.

  3. Add the tamari and water, mixing well until everything is evenly combined.

  4. Leave the mixture to sit for about 10 minutes so the chia and flaxseeds absorb the liquid and form a gel that helps bind the crackers.

  5. Spread the mixture thinly and evenly onto the lined baking tray, pressing it flat with the back of a spoon or spatula.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes.

  7. Remove from the oven and cut into cracker shapes.

  8. Return to the oven and bake for a further 15 minutes, or until the crackers are firm and crisp.

Storage: Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week or fridge for up to 2 weeks.
