Seeded Tamari Crackers
These crunchy crackers are packed with nutrient-dense seeds that provide fibre, healthy fats, and plant-based minerals. Seeds such as Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds, Chia seeds, and Flaxseeds naturally contain omega-3 fats, protein, and lignans that support digestive health, are great for balanced hormones and stable energy. Using Tamari adds a savoury umami flavour while helping the crackers crisp in the oven.
Ingredients
-
½ cup Pumpkin seeds
-
½ cup Sunflower seeds
-
½ cup Chia seeds
-
½ cup Flaxseeds
-
2 tbsp Tamari
-
250ml water
Method
-
Preheat the oven to 160°C and line a baking tray with baking paper
-
In a bowl, combine the pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, and flaxseeds.
-
Add the tamari and water, mixing well until everything is evenly combined.
-
Leave the mixture to sit for about 10 minutes so the chia and flaxseeds absorb the liquid and form a gel that helps bind the crackers.
-
Spread the mixture thinly and evenly onto the lined baking tray, pressing it flat with the back of a spoon or spatula.
-
Bake for 30 minutes.
-
Remove from the oven and cut into cracker shapes.
-
Return to the oven and bake for a further 15 minutes, or until the crackers are firm and crisp.
