Hummus is a staple for a reason, it’s simple, satisfying, and incredibly nourishing. From a hormone health perspective, it’s also a great example of how balanced, whole-food choices can support your body day to day. Made from chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon, and garlic, hummus provides a combination of plant-based protein, healthy fats, and fibre, all of which play an important role in stabilising blood sugar and supporting overall hormonal balance.
One of the biggest benefits of making your own hummus at home is what you don’t get. Many store-bought versions contain added vegetable oils, preservatives, and unnecessary additives that can contribute to inflammation or disrupt gut health. When you make it yourself, you’re in control of the quality of ingredients using good olive oil, fresh lemon, and tahini keeping it as close to whole food as possible!
